Pet Door Mounting Adaptor
The SureFlap Pet Door Mounting Adaptor is useful when installing the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door into glass and certain door types. A pet door mounting adapter is not required for wall installations, as the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door has internal screw hole for wall mounting.
When mounting the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door in a glass pane, your glazier will generally cut a circular hole, leaving open areas around the corners of your pet door.
The optimum hole size for mounting in glass is 300mm in diameter. The pet door mounting adaptor can cover hole sizes ranging from 294mm to 320mm in diameter.
The SureFlap Pet Door Mounting Adapter covers these open areas, preventing loss of heat from your home and providing a clean, neat finish to your installation.
This accessory allows mounting in holes ranging from 294mm to 320mm (111⁄2″ to 12 5⁄8″ ) in diameter.
The total diameter of the mounting adapter is 380mm (15″).
Each pet door mounting adapter includes two parts, one for the interior and one for the exterior of your home.
The tunnel extenders make mounting the pet door through a wall a snap though we do recommend contacting a contractor or handyman if you are not comfortable using tools or cutting into your walls.
The SureFlap pet door tunnel extender fits snugly onto the tunnel of the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door and multiple extenders can be stacked together to form a tunnel of any length.
The tunnel of the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door is 2¾” long and each pet door tunnel extender adds 2″ to the length of the pet door’s tunnel.
We recommend using the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door or Cat Door with your pet’s veterinary inserted microchip*. However if your pet is not micro chipped, the SureFlap RFID collar tag is available as an alternative. SureFlap RFID collar tags contain a code that is unique to your pet so that if other pets in the neighborhood have a SureFlap collar tag, or any other type of collar tag used in selective pet doors, they will not be able to gain access.

Videos that may help
The SureFlap Microchip Pet Door has been tested with raccoon’s, who were unable to open the door from the outside.
If you have experienced intruder raccoon’s entering your home via a pet door in the past, we recommend activating the pet door’s ‘Raccoon Mode’, also known as Custom Mode 5. Full details of how to activate this mode are available in the Pet Door User Manual.
How does Raccoon Mode work?
When Custom Mode 5 has been activated, as soon as the product’s sensors detect an animal’s head in the tunnel of the product, it scans to read the animal’s chip. If the animal is not one whose identity is stored in the door’s memory, the two locks on the exterior of the door are activated for added security. At this point the unit will keep scanning for a microchip and the exterior locks will remain engaged until approximately 10 seconds after the intruder animal has moved away from the door.
When the exterior locks are engaged it makes it impossible for the raccoon to open the door towards them in order to get in. The interior locks prevent the raccoon from pushing through the door into the house – the combination of the two sets of locks have proved impenetrable to raccoons in our product testing.
